H.E. Garchen Rinpoche is a founder and spiritual teacher of the Drikung Community Ratnashri

H.E. Garchen Rinpoche will grant teachings in Kiev October 27-31.

Rinpoche will grant teachings on relative and ultimate bodhchitta and will bestow Bodhisattva vow. Rinpoche will also grant empowerments of Buddha Amitabha and Vajrayogini connected to Phowa practice. Rinpoche will grant teachings on Phowa practice and will lead two sessions dedicated to this practice. During the last day Rinpoche will grant Refuge vow.

Rinpoche will give teachings in Tibetan. There will be a double translation. Ari Kiev will translate from Tibetan to English. We are also delighted that Lama Dawazangmo and Konchok Samten agreed to serve as translators to Ukrainian. This is a rare opportunity for Ukrainian sangha to hear translation from people with experiential understanding of the teachings.

Moscow Drikung Kagyu Ratnshri Center (http://drikung.ru) is kindly organizing local Russian translation for those participants from Russia who do not understand English. Translation will be done via radio-microphone working in the range of 10-15 m. Those in need of Russian translation will need a portable radio reciever or can use a radio in their mobile phones.

October 28.
15:00-17:00  Teachings on relative and ultimate bodhichitta.
18:00-20:00 Teachings on relative and ultimate bodhichitta.

October 29.
10:00-12:00 Teachings on relative and ultimate bodhichitta. Bodhisattva vow.
18:00-20:00 Empowerment of Vajrayogini.

October 30.
10:00-12:00 Phowa teachings.
15:00-17:00 Phowa practice.
18:00-20:00 Phowa practice.

October  31.
10:00-13:00 Teachings on Refuge. Refuge vows and tsog.
Recommended donation - 100 UAH.*

All donations for the teachings will be given to Rinpoche for further use. All those who make monthly contributions to the Drikung Community Rantnashri and those who are sponsors of this retreat will be given discount off the recommended donation. Where the retreat will take place.
Sanatorium “Dnipro” (Kozin, Solovyanenko st. 214-b, 33 km of old Obuhov road). Take but #311 or 313 from metro Vydubichi, get off the bus at the stop “Dnipro” and cross the road.

May they be liberated from suffering and the causes of suffering.
May they never be separated from the happiness that is free from sorrow.
May they rest in equanimity, free from attachment and aversion.

"Please understand that the purpose of the holy dharma in any of the three yanas - hinayana, mahayana, and vajrayana - is to liberate the mind from its delusions. Just as medicine exists for the whole purpose of curing disease - if medicine doesn't cure disease, it is of no use. So if you practice dharma, but you don't liberate your mind from delusions, what is the use of that? The sole purpose of the practice of any dharma is to liberate the mind from delusion. So please practice the dharma in such a way as to bring about this result."

Bodhicitta and cause and effect are most important and crucial teachings, without which there is no basis from which to start and no basis by which to enhance the precious Dharma teachings. There are many different examples of this. When we practice these precious Mahamudra teachings, then we may develop like Milarepa, who is known. Regarding this, there is no doubt. There is no hesitation. This accomplishment is well known everywhere. So just continue in that way. Meditate on Milarepa and how he successfully went through so many difficulties and then actualized the importance of enlightenment, and from that state, gave teachings. Milarepa was in a meditative state or retreat all the time until he passed away. So we, in our calmly abiding meditation practice and Mahamudra meditation practice can take that as a kind of example for ourselves. Then just do what we can in our daily life. Practice.
